Fullerton, CA — This week our Boys and Girls Wrestling team had a home dual against the very tough La Habra High School on Wednesday night. Our wrestling teams showcased their prowess on the mat, securing victories that have left brought both the boys and girls teams closer to their CIF goals. The girls' team, led by standout performances from Annemarie Ramirez(110) and Luna Izabella(145), dominated their opponents with a resounding 66-6 win. Annemarie and Luna set the tone with impressive pins, propelling the team to an undefeated 4-0 record for the season. With this momentum, the girls are now in an excellent position to clinch their first ever league title. On the boys' side, the competition was fierce, but we emerged victorious with a final score of 45-29. Underclassmen Jonah Moreno (106) and Dylan Cobbs (112) delivered stellar performances, setting the stage for success. Captain Julian Rodela (120) showcased leadership with a crucial win. The turning point in the match came with pivotal pins from Adrian Zavala (138) and Captain Landon MacGill (157). These decisive victories, coupled with strong performances from upper weights DJ Cobbs (190), Juan Ramirez (215), and Christian Godinez(285), sealed the deal for the boys' team, bringing their season record to an impressive 3-1. The wrestling teams are undoubtedly on fire this season, with both the girls and boys demonstrating skill, determination, and a winning spirit.
