Greetings Bears family and friend we are officially on Holiday Break. We will return back to practice on Saturday January 2nd. Based on the city update and county/guidelines, we are shifting our training to support minimal to no contact. 7 on 7 become the best viable option and we hope that guidelines will shift to allow competitive interaction. Sports Groups, Statement From The City Parks & Rec: Yesterday the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released new guidance on youth sports. I have attached a copy of the guidance to this email in both English and Spanish. Please review thoroughly. The guidance provides a roadmap for returning to competitive play with restrictions for each sport based on the County’s risk tier (purple, red, orange yellow) and the risk for each sport (low, moderate, high). On January 4, 2021 the State will look at infection numbers and decide whether to allow team-based competitive play to resume on January 25, 2021 subject to the risk tiers set out in the guidance. Sports like baseball and softball – which the State considers “moderate” risk – will be allowed to return when Riverside County is in the red risk tier. Sports like football and soccer – which the State considers “high” risk – will only be allowed to return when Riverside County is in the orange tier. Until your specific sport is authorized to return to competitive play, only individual skill building and conditioning activities may take place. This guidance may be subject to additional restrictions by Riverside County.
