This past weekend, the Douglas Tigers hosted the 2nd Annual Steve Deaton Memorial Tournament, which brought together 24 competitive teams from across the region. It was a thrilling showcase of talent, grit, and determination as both the boys' and girls' wrestling teams from Douglas High delivered standout performances to secure third-place finishes in their respective divisions.
Last night, the Douglas Tiger Wrestling Team showcased their skills and determination in a thrilling tri-dual against the Reno Huskies and the Damonte Ranch Mustangs. The Tigers came out on top in both matchups, demonstrating their depth and resilience on the mat.

This week, the Douglas Tiger Wrestling Team is thrilled to spotlight Izzy Tamondong as our Wrestler of the Week! Izzy headed into the Rollie Lane Invitational determined to snag her first win of the season—and she didn’t just stop at one. She battled her way to an impressive 3-2 record, making a statement on the mat, showing everyone the kind of competitor she is, and making it to day two of a tough tournament where over 90 teams were represented.
Nine wrestlers traveled to McQueen high school and competed against 18 other schools. Vinny Cereghino placed 2nd overall. Ryder Robiscoti and Judge Smith were each one win away from making the podium. There was a lot of quality wrestling coming from our boys, most of the loses were close loses by either 1-2 points. Next up JV will be traveling to Lovelock for a varsity level tournament!
