Midland Game 2

Alaina Trotter set the tone for GB at the top of the lineup, leading us with four hits in four at bats. Kayla Blumenschein and Trotter were dominant in the circle, as she rang up 15 strikeouts in our 6-1 victory over Midland. Blumenschein allowed three hits and one run over seven innings while walking one. The Bobcats opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two singles. We got on the board first when Mackenzie Jacobson singled, scoring two runs. Ella Stevenson went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Jacobson collected two hits for GB in three at bats. The Bobcats didn't commit a single error in the field.

Midland Game 1

Kayla Blumenschein collected four its in four at bats as GB defeated Midland in game one 12-0. Blumenschein hit a home run to left field in the 6th inning, singled in the 2nd inning, singled in the 3rd inning, and singled in the 5th inning. Savannah Schultz and Ella Stevenson struck out 13 batters, allowed 3 hits, and zero runs over 6 innings while walking just two. We jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Stevenson singled, scoring two runs, Skylar Green doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored one more. We scored two runs in the top of the third on a home run to left field by Kate Mitchell. GB ran in 4 more runs in the 6th inning to extend the lead and final score. Blumenschein's Homer scored 3 runs and Zoey Beard singled, scoring one run.

Dow Game 2

GB scored seven runs in the fourth inning, which helped defeat Down 8-1 with Grace Matney hitting deep to center, the wind held it in place, but the centerfielder made an error which lit a fire for GB. Kayla Blumenschein singled, scoring two runs, Cay'ana Tipton hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Ella Stevenson singled, scoring two runs, and Hannah Hohnson homered to left field, scoring two runs. Blumenschein stepped in the circle first. She gave up one hit and one run over five innings, striking out nine and walking five with Alaina Trotter behind the plate. Savannah Schultz pitched two innings of shoutout ball in relief. She surrendered one hit, striking out four, and walking none. She also had an ESPN worthy diving catch to cinch one of the last outs. Ava Zagata also put two away with big catches in right field. We collected 11 hits with Johnson, Zoey Beard, Trotter, and Blumenschein each collected two hits.

Dow Game 1

GB Varsity grabbed an early lead on the way to victory over Dow, 2-0. The pitching was strong on both sides. Savannah Schultz struck out 17, while Dow was able to sit down four Bobcats. Schultz gave up four hits, zero runs, and walked two with Ella Stevenson behind the plate. Schultz also drove the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in. Kate Mitchell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead GB in hits. Our defense was spot on with zero errors and Hannah Johnson shining at short stop with two big catches and Alaina Trotter having a great catch at third to throw a runner out. Mitchell also had a big catch in the outfield and Skylar Green stopped a hard shot at second base.
