Coach Jones Post

Our team got just what they needed on Saturday to move to 5-3 overall.....high energy, high motivation, and a very well played all around game to defeat the 2nd ranked team in San Diego (division 3). Devin Fortune had a career high 22 points to go with his 12 rebounds and lead 4 Rams in double figure scoring. Senior Dane Grippo also played in his 81st career game.....passing 2018 graduate Gio Sanders as the leader in school history for most games ever played.

Your Rams jumped out with 30 points in the 1st quarter and recorded the 2nd highest point total in school history with the win last night. Three Rams had their career highs in points last night.....Cameron Rentie had 25, Matthew McIntosh had 19, and Anthony Salek had 16. That is now 9 guys that have had career high point totals this year which really speaks to the depth of this team.

After a slow start, our guys kicked off a great evening with a 2nd half surge outscoring Palm Desert 47-26 in the last 16 minutes. Anthony Salek set a school record with 7 three pointers in the game (5 of them in the 4th quarter) to lead the dominating win. Senior Devin Fortune also had an overall nice statistical game with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

After reading the score 2x I need to emphasize the fact that you did read it correctly. We were completely overmatched from the start. Villa Park put on a clinic against us as they made 12 three pointers in the 1st half and several dunks to race out to a big lead that we were never able to put a dent into. We did at one point cut the lead to 9 points before another wave of shots went down against us.
