Great performance

The boys came out from the gates and pressed very good to create mistakes that created some great chances for us. In a game where there was a stoppage due to injury on an SM player it took us a little time to re-adjust after starting back again the first half. The second half started off with immediate pressure that ultimately led to a couple of goals. Once again the defense was on point and really never gave SM any great chances and our offense was good to get us 3 goals to finish the match 3-0. Great overall performance by the team, once again, proud of the boys and their grit and their fight.

Stellar defense

It was a great game with 2 teams battling for 70 minutes. We created some good opportunities to score but could not capitalized. Mater Dei was disciplined and played very well but our defense was stellar in never giving them any good opportunities to score. It was certainly a game we could’ve won but I was very proud of how well we battled and how the boys played.

A learning curve

We came out flat and with no enthusiasm. Our mentality was off from the get go and we gave up some silly mistakes that led to their goals. It was a humbling game for the boys since we were riding a winning streak as we could not figure out how to break down Mater Dei. Now we move on from this match and we look forward to our next one with hopes to learn from this game.

Fighting Lions

The game was a great battle of 2 teams playing some good soccer. It was back and forth for the majority of the game but 2 goals in the first half by Marcus Ozmai was enough to hold off a good Servite team who kept on knocking on our door. I thought the defense was stellar and was able to keep the shutout but more importantly hold on for the win. Overall it was a great team performance and I am beyond excited on how well the boys fight, fight like the Lions that we are!!!
