Lady Bears fall to Green

The Bears lost to Green last night at home. Jackson fell behind 30-17 by halftime and could not recover. Emma Dretke recorded a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds for Jackson. Megan Campbell added 10 points for the Polar Bears. Alayna McMullen scored 9 points on three 3 pointers. The Polar Bears were limited without point guard Leena Patibandla who was out with an injury from the McKinley game. They were 15-of-52 from the field and had 17 turnovers. The bears are hoping to bounce back in a big way at Hoover on Saturday!

Bears lose to Pups

The Polar Bears lost a tough Federal League matchup on the road to McKinley. The bears came out strong right away with a steal and layup by Leena Patibandla. Unfortunately, she went down seconds later with an ankle injury. The lady bears battled without her and lead midway through the second quarter (22-17). They went into the half down 6 and couldn’t regain control. Emma Dretke led the way with 15 points, shooting 4-7 from three. Ava Scroggs had 8 points in the first quarter, grabbed 3 rebounds and had 2 steals. Megan Campbell had another impressive game, scoring 11 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. The Lady Bears travel to East Canton Monday!

Bears defeat Panthers!

Jackson overcame a 10-point halftime deficit as the host Polar Bears earned their second consecutive win. Jackson outscored Perry 25-11 in the third quarter to take the lead and then held off a Panther rally late in the fourth quarter. Emma Dretke had 14 points and 6 rebounds to lead Jackson. Ava Scroggs scored 9 points on 3-4 shooting from three. Leena Patibandla had 4 points and 8 assists. Kylie Hawke (4 points) and Alayna McMullen (6 points) played incredible defense and showed great leadership. Freshman Megan Campbell did not look like a freshman, grabbing 5 big rebounds and scoring 7 points back-to-back in the third quarter. The Lady Bears are back in action Saturday at McKinley!

Jackson pulls off the win

Jackson defeated Lake last night in a rescheduled Federal League matchup. Emma Dretke led the way with a double double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. She was almost perfect from the line, shooting 9-10. The lady bears had a slow start, going into the half tied 8-8. A 16-0 run in the third quarter was the difference maker. The bears are back in action tomorrow against Perry at home.
