Jackson splits doubleheader with Strongsville

Jackson went on the road for a doubleheader at Strongsville. In the first game of the day, Jackson was able to get on the board first scoring one run in the top of the first inning. Strongsville answered back in the bottom of the inning to tie up the score at 1-1. The Polar Bears would answer back in the 2nd and 3rd innings to make the score 3-1 going into the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Mustangs would take the lead scoring four runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 5-3 after three innings. Jackson would battle back and tie up the game at 5-5 after six innings. The Polar Bears would fall in the bottom of the 9th inning on a failed pickoff attempt allowing the Mustangs to score to end the game 6-5.

Polar Bears blowout the Fighting Irish

Jackson’s offense was on full display Wednesday blowing out St. Vincent-St. Mary by a score of 15-0. The Polar Bears wasted no time scoring two runs in the top of the 1st inning. Jackson would score two more runs in the top of the 2nd inning to extend their lead to 4-0 after two innings. The Polar Bears would explode for six more runs in the top of the 3rd inning to make it 10-0. The scoring would continue in the 4th and 5th innings as the Jackson offense would plate five more Polar Bears to make the final 15-0.

Jackson wins in dramatic fashion over Tallmadge

The Jackson Polar Bears hosted the Tallmadge Blue Devils on a chilly Friday evening. The Polar Bears got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning on two singles and a walk to make it 1-0. Tallmadge tied up the game in the top of the 3rd inning to make it 1-1 after 3 innings of play. Jackson would take the lead in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring two runs on three singles and a walk. The Blue Devils would take the lead in the top of the 6th inning after scoring one run in the 5th and two runs in the 6th to take a 4-3 lead going into the 7th inning. Mytinger would get things started in the bottom of the 7th with a leadoff walk followed by a sacrifice bunt by Pastorius. Hynes would tie up the score with a single to center field scoring Mytinger. Scroggs would end the game on a walk-off single to center field scoring Hynes to win 5-4.

Jackson falls to Canfield on the road

Jackson traveled to Canfield to play the Cardinals last night. The Polar Bears were silenced in the top of the first while Canfield was able to score first in the bottom of the inning to take the early lead 1-0. Jackson has held scoreless in the second while the Cardinals managed two more runs to make it 3-0 after two innings. The Polar Bears answered back in the top of the third scoring one run on one hit and three walks. Canfield scored two more runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 5-1. Jackson would manufacture their second run in the top of the 5th inning; however the Polar Bears would give up two more runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 7-2. That score would hold up as Canfield defeats Jackson 7-2. Jackson is back in action today against the Solon Comets at home. Go Bears!!
