Warde takes down a pesky Hatter team for final win of the season

In the final game of the season Fairfield Warde finds a way to win. The Mustangs had multiple players contribute to what was one of the best freshman records in school history during a challenging year. Warde was led by David Melson (22 pts), Gerald Jacobs (15 pts), Jake Medor (10pts) and Nic Alvarez (8 pts). Although the Mustangs scoring was impressive, it was Danny Becker’s outstanding defense in the 4th quarter which took the Hatters best player out of the game and allowed Warde to get the win. The Mustangs ended the season with a record of 9-1, putting their stamp on a unique season with many challenges.

Warde’s big 2nd half propels the Mustangs to 6-1

Warde gets contributions from multiple players in route to their 6th win of the year. After a closely contested 1st Half, Warde found an extra gear and created the separation they needed to win the game. Danny Becker led the Mustangs with 17 pts, he was automatic from 3 in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Charlie Gulbin(10 pts), Jake Medor (9 pts) and Gerald Jacob’s (8 pts) provided scoring when they needed it. Jonah Bass Lawrence and Nic Alvarez controlled the glass for the Mustangs making sure the pesky Westhill team couldn’t sneak back into the game. The Mustangs return to action Thursday against the Norwalk Bears.

Mustangs click on all cylinders in convincing win against cross town rival.

Fairfield Warde captured a convincing victory against cross town rival Ludlowe. Fairfield Warde got off to a 12-0 start and never looked back, finding contributions from their entire roster. 10 Mustangs registered points in the game, showing that offense can come with any lineup that was on the floor. The mustangs were led by David Melson (11 pts), Charlie Gulbin (11 pts) and Jonah Bass-Lawrence (8 pts.).

Warde suffers first loss of the season in close contested game

In a tough battle against a good St. Josephs team, Warde came up 2 points short. Warde found itself down 29-20 at the half but turned up the defense coming out of the half to reclaim the lead late in the fourth quarter. The cadets had two big stops to recapture their lead and they ended up holding on to win the game. The Mustangs were led by David Melson(12 pts), Gerald Jacobs (12 pts) and Jake Medor (11 pts.). The Mustangs will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday against Westhill.
