Highlanders Bounce Back with Shutout of Fair Lawn

After a tough loss on the road Monday, the Highlanders bounced back with a 9-0 home shutout of Fair Lawn. Christian Aiello and Joe Palminteri combined for the shutout, with Aiello going 4 innings, allowing no hits and striking out 7. Palminteri worked the final 3 innings allowing only one hit and striking out 3. Palminteri also went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI, opening the scoring in the 5 run first with a 2 RBI single. Luke Milko also added an RBI single in the 4th, driving in his team leading 20th run on a day where 7 different Highlander players drove in runs.

Highlanders Snap 2 Game Skid with Win Over Lakeland

The Highlanders snapped their two game skid with a 4-2 road win over Lakeland. Junior Kyle Bednarski led the way on the mound going 6 2/3 innings with 9 strikeouts, allowing only 4 hits and one earned run. Senior LF Luke Milko had an RBI double to break a 1-1 tie in the 5th and hit an RBI single in the 7th to give West Milford a 4-1 lead. Jack Leonard and Christian Aiello also added RBI singles. Aiello also got his second save of the season, striking out the final batter with the tying run on base.

Christian Aiello went 6 2/3 innings with 11 strikeouts and Cody Eldridge retired the final batter of the game to seal the historic combined no hitter for West Milford in their 9-1 win over Wayne HIlls.

Highlanders Drop Division Opener to Hills

The Highlanders sent the tying run to the plate in the 7th but came up short, dropping their divisional opener to Wayne Hills, 5-2. Junior Kyle Bednarski struck out 9 allowing 6 hits and only one earned run in his first varsity start as a pitcher. Junior Kai Foster drove in the lone runs for West MIlford with a 2 RBI double in the 5th. West Milford plays the second league game at Wayne Hills on Wednesday 4/28.
