Victory on Senior Night

Victory on Senior Night

Canyon celebrated a win against El Modena High School while honoring their Seniors Monday night at Fred Kelly Stadium. The first score for Canyon came from a JV guest player, Karys Mckinney. The second and final score of the game was a PK sent in from Senior Paige Van Voorhis. That final goal made everyone's night, especially Van Voohris's! Well done ladies and congratulations class of 2021! Good luck to Canyon Wednesday night as they take on El Dorado High School.

A Tied Ending

Canyon started the game with a quick goal in the first few minutes. Makena Oliva passed to Carly Cross who took the ball to the net. El Dorado turned up the pressure on Canyon's defense and goalie Mia Santos had some tremendous saves to keep the score at half time, Canyon 1- El Dorado 0. In the second half El Dorado's pressure continued and second half keeper Elizabeth Reichert kept up the saves. The game was tied by El Dorado with a goal that ricocheted off the top bar. The referees determined it was a goal tying the game 1-1. The second goal for Canyon came from a corner kick from Cross and a header by Natalie Darling, putting Canyon back on top 2-1. The final goal of the game was from El Dorado which tied the game 2-2. A well played match by all.

Win Over El Modena

Canyon played El Modena Friday and earned a win! El Modena scored the first goal of the match but Sophomore, Natalie Darling quickly answered back with a goal for Canyon from a free kick by Junior, Tyler Pamperin. The teams were tied 1-1 going into the half. Canyon then scored a second goal with Freshman, Makena Oliva’s cross and Senior, Carly Cross following it in. The third goal was a corner kick from Cross and Senior, Ally Gorsha finished. And the final goal for Canyon was an assist from Cross and finish by Junior, Rachel Hartfelder taking the score to Canyon 4 and Elmo 1. Elmo quickly answered back scoring 2 more goals making the final score Canyon 4 and El Modena 3. Nice job Canyon!!!

A Win at Home

Canyon played Foothill at home this evening and were victorious. Two goals were scored in the first half by Senior Carly Cross and Freshman Makena Oliva. In the second half, Freshman Natalie Darling ran the ball up the field and sent it to Cross who scored. The fourth and final goal came on a corner kick from Junior Tyler Pamperin and Darling scored on the kick for the Comanches. A huge effort by this team and a great win!
