Corvian Cardinals Men's Varsity-1st Conference Win of The 2021-22 Basketball Season

Corvian Community kicked off their conference season with a 73-66 win at Queen's Grant. The Cardinals were led by Sam Harris who had a monster double double! He went for 17 points and 12 rebounds while leading in efficiency rating (17) and game score (12). Arael Jones had another great all-around night, scoring 16 points, 4 assists, 7 rebounds and a block. Jelani Freeman also provided some much needed help on the glass, as he scored 12 points, 8 rebounds, with an assist and 2 steals. He also lead the team with a plus/minus of plus 10. Preston Brawley also chipped in with 9 points, 2 rebounds and a block in just 9:39.2 on the court. The Cardinals will look to play another away game next week, against Charlotte Country Day.

Corvian at Covenant Day- Tough Loss for The Cardinals

Corvian Community took a tough loss at the hands of Covenant Day on Tuesday, 85-72. Despite the loss, there were a few bright spots for the Cardinals. Freshman Arael Jones led the scoring charge, scoring 25 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds with an efficiency rating of 18, and game score of 13.6. Senior RJ Seymour shot the ball well, knocking down 4 of 8 shots from downtown on his way to 23 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds, a block and 2 steals. He also only had 1 turnover in his team high 31:04.4 on the court, as well as leading in efficiency rating (22) and game score (17). Senior forward Jelani Freeman also chipped in with 10 points of his own, to go along with 2 rebounds and 3 steals. Corvian Community will look to play an away conference game Friday, this time against Queen's Grant.

Corvian Community got their season started with a bang Thursday night vs Davidson Day with a huge 86-40 victory! They were led by senior guard RJ Seymour, who racked up 19 points, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, and 6 steals in the win. He also led the Cardinals in efficiency rating (22) and game score (17.1) in just 17:58.2 on the court. He excited the fans with his dazzling play on both ends, swarming the Davidson Day guards, and throwing down a couple of mean dunks on the other end. Sophomore Jack Hudson was also dazzling off the bench, scoring 11 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds, dropping some incredible dimes including a show-stopping no-look over the head pass after a steal for an assist. Junior Forward Sam Harris also flirted with a double double, scoring 13 points along with 8 rebounds, and nearly throwing down an incredible alley-oop dunk, on which he was fouled. The Cardinals will travel to Covenant Day next week for their 2nd game!
