Boys Team Finishes 2nd in SWMSC

Boys Team Finishes 2nd in SWMSC

"We were excited to ski Wednesday night after the warm up and rain, it had looked like our season was going to be cut short but the cold snap allowed our conference to get its final race in. My skiers did a great job under very challenging conditions, it was pure ice! You will rarely hear any of my skiers using the work Icy but that is the only way to describe the slope conditions at this race." Coach Petrosky "All season long Tyler Dean and Ben DeGood have been leading our team and they did it again tonight, Tyler's 4th in slalom and 6th in GS led us in both events and Ben's 7th in GS and 8th in slalom helped set the tone for our team."

Cold Day at Caberfae Peaks

The guys team traveled north to Caberfae Peaks for the MHSAA Region 5 ski tournament on Monday. The guys started the day racing GS on Gigi's ride on the Darkside of the South Peak. The course has a steep upper sections a flatter but rolling midsection and a quick dive into the finish and goes for top to top of South Peak, making it one of the longer GS courses in the state of Michigan.

The Scots Boys Team Wins the Battle for Bittersweet

"Our guys came out tonight and did a great job finishing strong on a busy week of racing. We started last Friday at Crystal Mountain, traveled to Schuss Mountain on Monday, won our conference meet Wednesday and pulled off a win in a non-conference meet against all the team that train at Bittersweet Ski Area with us" Coach Petrosky "We have been wanting to have race with who we share the hill with for a couple years and made it happen Thursday night." "We ran the race on our timer and had an issue getting times but after a call to the tech support in Utah, we figured a way to finalize what was a very fun race for everyone involved. "Tonight, our clump was as strong as ever, even though we were missing two starters, which is great sign for our team moving forward."

Consistent Skiing Leads the Scots to 1st SWMSC Win of the Season

"This is one of the mentally toughest group of skiers I have coached! Nothing seems to change how they ski. Tonight, our speed and consistency helped us get past a very good Mattawan/Paw Paw team for our first conference victory of the season. Tyler Dean and Ben BeGood have been trading off leading our team all season and their leadership on and off the slopes has helped these guys start to reach their potential as we are preparing for Regionals"Coach Petrosky "Right now we have eight guys that are skiing great and are going to get a chance to help the team at Regionals, it is exciting to see these guys continue to push themselves to see how fast they can be."
