A high scoring affair!

The girls got off to a hot start taking an early lead in this game but Morton battled back through the power of their forwards. This game came down to a battle of speed vs power and in the end the power got the job done. Josie O'Donnell freshly back from a seven's all-star event over break could not be stopped when she got the ball scoring almost all of the Eagles points. There was one moment where she made two player run into each other before she raced into the try zone. Leah Cahill had a great game kicking offensively, putting the team on the front foot often by kicking over the defense. Roxan Cruz continues her strong first season at loose forward. Mary Hulne scored with a heads up play at the half and her and Josie definitely made some try preventing tackles. Ariel Corbitt and Imanii Hernandez continue their strong season. While Taft had the lead with about 10 minutes left but Morton was able to punch through two mote trys

A big victory for Fresh/Sophs

A big victory for Fresh/Sophs

Taft Fresh/Soph make it three bonus point wins in a row with a 32-27 victory over Arlington. The fresh/sophs controlled the ball most of the game holding the lead the entire game. A few miss timed passes made the score closer then it should of been. In the forwards Thomas Saba and Dax Hutchinson continue to set the tone. Though there were lots of great moments from many forwards who punched holes in the defense consistently. Wellington Castillo had several dominating carries in the center position with good defensive support as well. Both Jorge Roman and Nathan Saba provided solid work from the scurm half position. Lots of tries this game Alejandro Fuentes got his first score, Grealy and Padilla both dotted the ball down as well as a few others.

Almost a comeback!

Taft played a great game after the rain against the Fox Valley Predators. Elgin cancelled their season due to numbers so we rescheduled with the predators. At Half the game was 12-7 and Taft had left some points on the field. Predators came out of half time though all fired up. Scoring three unanswered trys, Taft came with in a try of making a come back but ran out of time scoring at the buzzer with a steal and run by Jake Ryan and then dotted down by Phil Abraham.

No Chiefs

This game didn't actually occur as the Chiefs don't have enough girls. The girls did host several teams during spring break for a fun afternoon of Rugby. Girls from the Lions and Lane both came and made mixed team to take on Taft with a few borrowed players to get a good game of 15's in.
