Buena vs Oxnard

The Bulldogs took on the Oxnard Yellowjackets. After a week of the best defensive practices the Bulldogs were ready for the skilled Oxnard team. Offense picked up where they left off from last weeks win and continued to run the and own the line of scrimmage. The Bulldog run game was a force in the 2nd half and all credit goes to the offensive line for blocking their tails off. Defense battled all night and stiffened up in the 2nd half and in critical moments. They had a key goal line stop with 6 minutes left on the clock which then the offense held the ball for the remainder of the game to give the Bulldogs another league victory. Buena 38 Oxnard 30. Buena vs San Marcos

The Buena Bulldogs took on the San Marcos Royals, another tough league opponent. The Bulldogs were off to a slow start on offense and defense. Offense had the ground game picking up and then never looked back as the running game was the backbone of the offensive attack. Defense played extremely well after settling down, made some big stops in several critical moments throughout the game including an interception to seal the game with 2 minutes left on the game clock.

Buena vs Channel Islands

The Buena JV took on Channel Islands for the second week in a row. The Bulldog defense came ready to play as they forced a punt on the first series of the game. Tyler Hoff then returned the punt for the Bulldogs first touchdown of the game. James Blanks had a rushing touchdown and scored on a punt return. Jackson Pohmisano later scored on a 50yd reception. With playing the same team back to back weeks, the Bulldogs did a great job staying mentally focused throughout the week and it showed as Buena won 62-0.

Buena vs Channel Islands Recap

Buena took on their first league opponent of the season at Channel Islands. Buena played great in all 3 phases of the game offensively, defensively and on special teams as they all were able to put up points. Offense had 4 TD's on the ground, Defense had 2 interceptions returned for TD's and Special Teams scored on a kick return. All around team effort as players contributed early and often as both teams battled the heat. Buena 64 Channel Islands 6.
