Our Varsity Lions had a great win over visiting team Alta Hawks who came to (finally) sunny CA from snowy Sandy, Utah. It was a strong team effort tonight all over the field with an impressive 17 saves from #9 Neiger, 18 face off wins by #28 Walters, multiple turnovers on Alta forced by #2 S. Stephens and #29 Kitcher, and 23 ground ball recoveries across the roster. Points on the board by:

The Varsity boys opened Trinity League play today with a fantastic showing against Mater Dei. While they didn't come out with the win (10-14 final score), they fought hard, fought back when down and stayed in it the whole game against a tough opponent. Neiger was a force in goal with 13 saves and shout-outs to Referente, Almy, Seldow, M. Stephens, Fuller and Zimmer for putting points on the board. Bonus kudos for a great defensive line goal in the 3rd with a pass from S. Stephens to J. Zimmer and in!

It was a rainy 15-3 win at home against Yorba Linda tonight. Seven different players found the goal throughout the game, with kudos to Jack Almy who had 7 of them. Defensively Jack Zimmer forced 3 turnovers, and the entire defense came through with ground balls and great clears. Watch Coaches Corner for more.

This was a nail-biter ... After an intense 4-quarter battle against a strong Tesoro defense and goalie, #4 Jack Almy tied the game up 5-5 with 20-seconds left in regulation. The Lions put up a fight but unfortunately came up short in OT, falling to Tesoro Titans. #28 Jackson Walters was crucial to the offense all game, with the Lions winning 12 of the 13 faceoffs.
