Otsego, MI — The Scots raced in their final SWMSC race on Wednesday at Bittersweet for the 2021 season. They skied well and held on to third place in the conference. "Our girls skied great again tonight! I am so proud of this group of outstanding ladies--they skied well all season in a very tough SWMSC." Coach Petrosky, " Emily Dean and Danielle Miron, our seniors, have both had great careers and have really left their mark on the Caledonia girls ski team during their careers. Emily has been a four year all conference athlete that had an awesome career that will put her in the top five for points scored during her career, which puts her in the company of the best girls skiers that Caledonia has had since it started a ski team in the early 1990's and Danielle has been a consistent skier for our team that has always been there to pick up points in the past and this year stepped up and became one of our top four skiers. Danielle has been in the top twenty, actually the top 18 skiers in the conference the past couple years--this year she ended up just outside of All Conference but her contributions to our team have helped us to take third in a very competitive SMSWC this year. We are going to miss these to girls next year, they both bring a great positive attitude to the team and are leaders on the slope & in the classroom." Leading the way at tonight' race were Emily Dean (5th GS & 7th SL), Barbie DeGood (2nd SL & 11th GS), Danielle Miron (15th Sl & 17th GS) and Evie Schlett (16th SL & 16th GS). Emily Dean, Barbie DeGood and Evie Schlett all ended up All Conference this season by finishing in the top 15 in the SWMSC. The girls Varsity B Team also took third this year. Our B Girls team won their first meet of the season and were led by Kyleigh Thompson (1st SL & 2nd GS), Adia Whisler (6th SL& 6th GS) and Diana Bisono-Balaguer (7th SL & 7th GS). "We saw a huge growth in the skill level of our B-Team girls the past few weeks and it really showed tonight in their first victory!"
