Thompsonville, MI — Monday the Caledonia Ski Teams traveled to Crystal Mountain to compete in the Benzie Invitational. The Scots ended up fourth in a very tough field of teams from all over the state. Grayling 103 pts GR Christian 104pts Benzie Central 115pts Caledonia 138.5 pts Glen Lake 162pts Clare 177 pts Charlevoix 182pts Onekama 178pts "I am extremely proud of how the girls skied in slalom today--they took second in the event, on some really challenging courses on terrain that is the steepest that we have been on this season. We ended up with three skiers in the top fifteen in slalom, in a field of some very talented skiers." Coach Petrosky, "GS was just tough for us today. We struggled and I blame lack of training on steeper slopes. It takes a little practice to deal with the steep slopes and speed that is involved when racing the big hills and we just haven't had a chance to train on them this year." The Benzie Invitational awarded medals for the top 15 in each event. The following skiers earned medals and scored for the Scots: Emily Dean (9th SL & 14th GS), Barbie DeGood (10th SL) and Evie Schlett (14.5 th SL). DeGood also scored in GS with a 19th place. Danielle Miron scored in both events (20th GS & 17th SL) and Kyleigh Thompson scored her first points as a Scots with a 35th place in GS.
