Goddard, KS — Goddard, KS (Wichita) Tuesday night featured a battle of two teams who seemed to be looking in the mirror. They both are very young, but has some veteran pieces. They both are led by two of the most explosive scorers in the league to this point. They both were putting a two-game winning streak on the line. So it makes complete sense that after back and forth battling that only 1-point separated the teams at Halftime. Both teams traded blows through the 3rd quarter as well. The fourth quarter was the deciding factor. Goddard used full court pressure to create some offensive opportunities and went on a 11-0 run! Campus did not give up at all, they clawed their way back to within 6 points and ran out of time on its furious comeback. The final score was Goddard 33, Campus 26. The Lady Lions moved to 3-0 and face a road game at Valley Center on Friday 12/18. MaxPreps Player of the game was Senior Captain Shae Vang! She most certainly was an Iron-Woman in Tuesday night's home match-up vs. Haysville-Campus. She played every single minute of the game. She was stout defensively shutting down the paint and forcing many low percentage outside shots. She finished the game with just 2 points, but snagged 10 total rebounds along with 2 steals, 2 blocks, and even drew a charge! Leadership is often spoken of but better understood with action(s).
