Otsego, MI — The Scots competed at Bittersweet Monday afternoon, in a meet hosted by Portage. The Scots came away with their first victory of the season, as they narrowed Mattawan's lead in the SWMSC. Caledonia 64 pts Mattawan 81 pts Portage 103 pts South Haven 113 pts Hudsonville 153 pts Plainwell/TK 196 pts K-United 212 "I am super proud of how well my guys skied tonight!! They are starting to reach their potential in the courses and ski how we know they can." Coach Petrosky "My seniors are great skiers and extremely hard workers--Reid Goosen, Zach Roy and Gavin Donnelly all had great nights and so did the rest of the guys. We got off to a slow start this season but are starting to build momentum and know that we can ski even better!" The Scots won both event tonight to cut Mattawan's lead in the conference standings to 34 points, with two more conference races remaining. Leading the Scots were seniors Reid Goosen (2nd GS & 6th SL), Gavin Donnelly (5th SL), Zach Roy (7th GS). Ben DeGood, who is a junior, placed 9th in slalom and 11th in GS. Tyler Roy took 10th in slalom and Tyler Dean scored with a 14th in GS. The Scots Varsity B team continued its dominance in both events, the B Team scored 16pts in the meet (Varsity B only scores the top three racers) compared to Mattawan's 31 pts and Portage's 80pts. The Varsity B was lead by Sean Rice (1st GS & 2nd SL), Mason Peters (2nd GS & 3rd SL), Brayden Smith (3rd GS) and Ben Diegel (5th SL).
