Otsego, MI — Coming into the race Wednesday the Scots were 31 points behind Mattawan and after the race they are in the conference lead by 34 points in one of the largest point victory in the recent times for Caledonia. Caledonia 46 pts Mattawan 112 pts Portage 128 pts Hudsonville 133 pts South Haven 136 pts Plainwell/TK 166 pts K-United 222 pts "Our boys skied great tonight! We thought we could cut Mattawan's lead in half tonight, with how our boys have been skiing and set ourselves up for a battle for the SWMSC championship on February 17th but came out and had one of the best performances, top to bottom, that any of my teams have had in the 6 years I have coached the Caledonia Ski Team" Coach Petrosky. "We are extremely happy that they have skied so well the past two races and know that the trend will continue as we head into Regionals next Monday." The Caledonia team carved out a tight grouping of scorers in GS, with a team score of 20points. They did the same in slalom scoring only 26 points. The Scots had a balanced attack and all of its starters scored. Leading the way for the Scots were Reid Goosen (2nd GS & 8th SL ), Zach Roy (3rd GS ), Tyler Roy (7th GS & 9th Sl ), Ben DeGood (4th SL), Gavin Donnelly (5th SL) and Tyler Dean (8th GS). Caledonia also continued its B Team winning streak at Wednesday's race. "Our B-Team skiers are doing a great job. I have several that are running times that would start for most teams in our conference and the friendly competition between our kids is pushing them all to improve so they have a chance to race on our varsity team in the future." Leading the way for the B-fast Scots were Sean Rice (1st GS & 3rd SL), Brayden Smith ( 2nd SL & 2nd GS), and Mason Peters (3rd GS & 4th SL).
