Otsego, MI — The Caledonia girls team had a solid team performance on Wednesday that showed the improvement of the team's newest varsity team members in a hard fought race at Bittersweet Ski Area. Mattawan 55 pts Portage 63 pts Caledonia 110 pts Plainwell/TK 116 pts K-United 132 pts "Our top four skier have been skiing well this entire season but the key to holding onto 3rd place tonight was our 5th and 6th flight skiers, who moved their times right up with the rest of the girls to help put a wedge in the scoring. Mya Baldwin and Claudia Shuster both had great performances and are a big reason we held on after a few minor bobbles in the runs of our top four." Coach Petrosky "Although you do run each event individually, for our team to win we need to have everyone skiing fast enough to place well and our newer skiers stepped up tonight" All six of the Caledonia varsity skiers scored in the race and they were led by Emily Dean (8th GS & 9th SL), Barbie DeGood (10th GS), Evie Schlett (14th GS), Danielle Miron (15th SL & 18th GS), Mya Baldwin (17th SL) and Claudia Shuster (19th SL). The Caledonia Girls B-Team also took third at the meet and was lead by Kyleigh Thompson ( 2nd GS), Adia Whisler (8th GS & 6th SL), and Diana (9th SL & 9th GS). "We are really proud of the growth as skiers that we are seeing with our B-team, they have all done extremely well this season and we are excited to see how fast these girls can ski as they gain experience"
