Laguna Beach, CA — On Wednesday, May 26th the JV players teed it up at Ben Brown's golf course for the final round of the 2021 JV Championship. It looked like a two-player race to begin the day, with Chase Tyson holding a 6 stroke lead over Jackson Lawsky. Both players had a comfortable gap on the rest of the players, with 3rd and 4th place George Saba and Cooper Wollen over ten strokes back. Although several players tried to make a run at the leaders, posting some good scores, Chase played well himself, shooting the second-lowest score of the day (46) to win the Championship with a three-day total of 132, eight strokes better than second-place finisher Jackson (140). Chase and Jackson both handled the pressure of being in front, playing solid golf over the last 9 holes. Cooper kept them honest shooting the low score of the day at 45 which landed him in third place (143). George Saba (146) finished in 4th and Ranen Seeck (147) finished in 5th place, after also posting the low score of the day with a 45. Ayden Ardell (156), Jude Young (157), Stephen Schaefer (157), and Dane Paxon (172) rounded out the scoring for players that finished all three days of the tournament. In the putting contest, Jude Young had a great day on the course only needing 11 putts over 9 holes to take the win. He finished with a total of 44 putts over three rounds. Chase followed in second place with a total of 47 putts, one better than Cooper who totaled 48 putts. In the closest to the hole contest on hole #6, Dane Paxon looked to be the winner with his shot of 9 feet 6 inches in the second round - he only needed to fade the very last player in the very last group of day 3. However, George Saba stuck his tee shot to 5 feet 11 inches with the very last swing on the hole to win the contest!
