Cadillac , MI — The guys team traveled north to Caberfae Peaks for the MHSAA Region 5 ski tournament on Monday. The guys started the day racing GS on Gigi's ride on the Darkside of the South Peak. The course has a steep upper sections a flatter but rolling midsection and a quick dive into the finish and goes for top to top of South Peak, making it one of the longer GS courses in the state of Michigan. " Our guys skied well today but ended up 8th giant slalom and slalom. Our region has some very fast teams which makes this a very competitive race. Our clump was there but it was in the 20's and 30's and it would need to be much lower to advance to the state finals. We knew coming into the race that our team had to ski perfect to advance and we had a few mishaps during the race which put us solidly into 8th place." Coach Petrosky "I am very proud of my guys, they kept their composure no matter what happened this season. I have been impressed by how mentally tough these guys are and am looking forward to seeing them compete one more time in our final race on the 23rd." Leading the way for the Scots were Tyler Dean (21st GS & 22nd SL), Sean Rice (35 SL & 39GS), Ben DeGood (20th SL), Tyler Roy (26th GS), Brayden Smith (35th GS), and Luke Shuster (43rd SL). Also representing the Scots at Regionals were Mason Peters, DJ Potgeter, and Ben Diegel.
