Gobles, MI — "We were excited to ski Wednesday night after the warm up and rain, it had looked like our season was going to be cut short but the cold snap allowed our conference to get its final race in. My skiers did a great job under very challenging conditions, it was pure ice! You will rarely hear any of my skiers using the work Icy but that is the only way to describe the slope conditions at this race." Coach Petrosky "All season long Tyler Dean and Ben DeGood have been leading our team and they did it again tonight, Tyler's 4th in slalom and 6th in GS led us in both events and Ben's 7th in GS and 8th in slalom helped set the tone for our team." "Our boys team is graduating two seniors this year, Ben DeGood and Tyler Roy, who were all conference last year and this year. We have enjoyed watching them race the past four years and will miss them next year. This year's team has a unique balance with two seniors, two juniors and two sophomores starting for it, which sets us up to continue being successful in our conference. This year we ended up 2nd place and we are happy with how the kids have skied. Mattawan Paw Paw won the conference this year and have given us a little motivation to take into the off season to push even harder to bring back the SWMSC championship to our team." Scoring for the Scots at their final race of the season were Tyler Dean (4th SL & 6th GS), Ben DeGood (7th GS & 8th SL), Sean Rice (14th GS & 17th SL) and Brayden Smith (14th SL & 15th GS). The Caledonia B-Team won its 3rd consecutive B Championship. "Our B-Team skiers really pushed it this year. Most would start for a lot of the teams in our conference and having a B-Team conference gives our guys the chance to compete of their own trophy!" Leading the way for the B-Team was freshman DJ Potgeter, who won the B-race in both events, Luke Shuster (3rd SL & 6th GS), Cohen Broomfield (5th GS), Ben Diegel (8th GS & 9th SL), and Mario Roeske (10th SL).
