Otsego, MI — Wednesday was forecasted to be one of the coldest days of this winter but the Caledonia Girls Ski Team came out and heated up the snow in slalom. Caledonia took second in slalom and fourth in GS to end up one point behind Plainwell/TK for a third place finish at the third SWMSC meet of the season, on great snow conditions at Bittersweet Ski Area. "My girls really excelled in slalom tonight. Barbie DeGood led the way for us, she has been Ms Consistent this season and she is a great example for our younger skiers. She pushes her self in practice and also pushes her team mates to be their best too!" Coach Petrosky "Kyleigh Thompson and Mya Baldwin both stepped up tonight, these two sophomores have been increasing in speed every race and are a big key to our team's success." Scoring for the Scots in their third place finish were Barbie DeGood (8th SL & 11th GS), Kyleigh Thompson ( 15th SL & 16th GS), Mya Baldwin (15th GS & 16th SL) and Evie Schlett (12th GS & 18th SL). In the Varsity B Meet, the Scots took 3rd place. Scoring in the B meet were Elena Luracshi, (1st SL & 2nd GS) Lydia Sowerby,(7th GS & 9th Sl) Adia Whisler (12th GS & 13th SL) and Kayli Price (15th GS & 18th SL) Next week the Scots race on Wednesday Feb 2nd at Timber Ridge Ski Area before heading to Crystal Mountain on Friday Feb 4th to race in the Benzie Invitational.
