First Tournament for the Lady Cougars

Chula Vista, CA — The Lady Cougars competed in their first tournament of the 2021-2022 season. The girls performed well enough to finish in 8th place in the 38 team competition. The Lady Cougars only had wrestlers in 4 of the 14 weight classes. All 4 wrestlers helped contribute to the team score by winning matches. Congratulations to our 2 finalists and 2nd place finishers, Delilah DeGuia and Brianna Felix.

Brianna Felix

Brianna a freshman won her first 2 matches of the day and reached her first career final. She was able to take home a silver medal in her first ever wrestling tournament.

Delilah De Guia

Delilah a first year sophomore wrestler was able to finish 1-1 on the day in her round robin weight bracket. Delilah also wrestling in her first ever high school wrestling tournament won her first silver medal.
