Please be considerate of those teams around you and pick up any trash that your team makes throughout the day. There will be healthy options available as well. Pool Play and Bracket Play Format and Expectations of Coaches/Team Reps ● Format and bracket play will vary pending the division, number of teams, and age group. Please refer to the Tournament Director’s most recent email regarding the event to understand the pool play structure and scoring and if there will be a bracket play or not after pool play. ● We will supply Line-Up sheets for coaches and all necessary reffing forms needed to ref. ● See warm-up time structure in the Tournament Director’s email regarding this event/division. ● 1st place finishers of the tournament will receive medals. The top 2 finishers will receive a free tournament entry ($350 value) into the River City Showdown hosted on May 14-15 by Iowa Select Volleyball Club. ● Coaches & Team Reps ○ Please supply your own volleyballs for warm-ups and do not ball handle near those who are sitting and watching another game. ○ Please be sure your teams are refering appropriately, while the Iowa Region does allow athletes to ref the pool play matches, we strongly encourage adults up-ref during pool play and bracket play (mandatory) to allow for the smoothest day possible. ○ Please make sure your families and fans are cheering appropriately, not yelling at line-judges or work teams, and helping maintain a positive and healthy environment. There will be 0 tolerance with unruly fans, they will be asked to leave the facility. ○ Please ask your players to clean their benches when they finish playing their matches. ○ Keep an eye on the schedule, if there are opportunities to play ahead, we would like to do so. ○ If your team loses during bracket play, there is a high chance you will have to ref, please don’t leave if your team has to ref. If you’re not sure, just ask the Tournament Director if your team can leave or not. In situations where 2 teams have to share ref, it is common and a great gesture that the local team will ref the full match. COVID-19 Protocols ● While our facility policies are very fluid in regards to COVID-19 Protocols, as of right now there is no mask mandate within the facility. Please do what you and your team feel is correct. ● There will be NO switching of sides during the match. ● The facility will have hand sanitizer stations placed in every entrance of the hallway and near the front door. ● Please encourage your players that if they have any ill symptoms that they refrain from entering the facility. As always if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! Thank you for participating in a tournament at the QC Volleyball Factory! Frank Flanagan [email protected]
