FANS For The CURE Light Blue Game

Location & Date

Description

Stratford High Baseball announces a charity endeavor for the rest of the 2022 season as it teams up with broadcaster and sports radio personality Ed Randall’s FANS For The CURE foundation. Ed Randall, a prostate cancer survivor and awareness advocate, can now be heard Sirius XM’s MLB Radio (Channel 89) with his Saturday morning ‘Remember When’ show at 8:00 AM. His FANS For The CURE is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to positively influencing the lives of men by organizing medical, educational, and awareness programs focused on prostate cancer. Two years ago in the 2019 season, Stratford hosted a very successful ‘Light Blue’ charity/fundraising game for FANS For The Cure versus Notre Dame of Fairfield in which both teams played wearing special light blue sleeves underneath their uniforms. For the 2022 season, the Stratford team has decided to take it a step further by wearing light blue pre-game jerseys throughout the season. They also plan to wear those same light blue jerseys as actual game jerseys during the 2nd Edition of the ‘Light Blue’ game for FANS For The CURE on Saturday, May 7th when they take on Notre Dame of Fairfield at 10:30 AM. Once again, ND-Fairfield is happy to participate in the event and will play wearing special light blue sleeves. Ed Randall has plans to attend the game not only to watch the action but also to raise awareness with those attending. A donation bucket will now be out during all remaining Stratford home games at Penders Field. In addition, there will be no admission charge to the May 7th ‘Light Blue’ game, but all fans and family members attending are urged to make a contribution to FANS For The CURE organization and the prostate awareness cause.
