Fairness Hills, PA — The Truman Tigers ended their summer 7v7 play traveling to Falcon country on a pretty hot Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers defense led by Wesley Miller started out slow. However, after giving up 2 touchdowns the Tigers defense who plays by the mantra “SEATBELT” clicked in. The Tiger defense gave up two touchdowns and proceeded to shut the Falcons out for the remainder of the game. The Tigers defense finished with 4 interceptions and put the seatbelt on the Falcons offense and they could not find pay dirt for the remainder of the game. At only 5-11 125 pounds, Freshman Raheem Bradley while small in stature made his presence known on both sides of the ball. Raheem plays the safety and slot receiver position very well. He is a super talented player and has an impressive football IQ. His ability to utilize technique makes up for his lack of size. Senior CB Wakee Giddens played lock down defense against the Falcons with several pass breakups and a big interception to stop a falcons drive in the red zone. El Vines also had an interception on a surging Falcon drive on the 4 yard line! The Truman Tigers defense showed its suffocating seatbeltesque brand of football led by El Vines, Martins Jemie, and Timmy Slayton. Offensively, the Tigers sputtered on its first drive. Incoming Freshman, Samir Newkirk threw an interception. Newkirk after the first series locked in and led the Tigers offense up and down the field completing 3 touchdowns. Senior Rondell Bradley Jr. caught 2 touchdowns and sophomore Kahlil King had 1 touchdown from Sophomore Quarterback Billy Danhardt! Jayden Sangmeister had some great catches across the middle for gains of 10 or more yards on 5 completions. Senior running back Jayden Heard had some nice catches out of the back field and a big gainer down the sideline for a 25 yard gain. Junior running back Nasir Jallah did a great job running routes from the running back position and also had some drops that ultimately left points on the field for the Tigers! Freshman D’Andre McCoy did a great job running routes but left 2 touchdowns on the field due to dropped passes. Sr. Timmy Slayton showed his veteran presence as well on both sides of the ball! The Tigers are headed of to Honeybrook, Pa. Wednesday morning For ODAAP camp and have 7 summer practices before they take a break and resume practice on August 8th for Heat acclimation! The Tigers open their 2022-2023 season on the road against Chichester High School in Boothwyn, Pa.
