Mancelona, MI — "Our past few weeks have been crazy! Four invitationals, hundreds of miles traveled to train and race, two conference races and a bunch of late nights. Our whole season has been condensed due to the lack of winter weather and we been taking advantage of every opportunity to train and race to prepare for our regional race which is February 14th". Coach Petrosky "We raced at Cannonsburg Saturday, traveled north Sunday to train at Schuss and then raced on Monday and our boys did a great job! We finished third in a tough field of teams from central and northern Michigan that included Mt. Pleasant, who was ranked 8th in the state in the preseason rankings and may move up in the rankings when they are released next week." "It has been fun watching Sean Rice progress from a beginning skier when he started in 7th grade with our middle school program to being a captain as a senior. His path in our sport is very typical for our skiers in Caledonia, they start late by ski racing terms but are dedicated hard working athletes that push themselves and can compete at the state level by the time they are sophomores or juniors. Today, Sean had his best race of the season medaling in both events to lead the Scots (12th GS and 13th SL) and I know that he can even grow more as a skier as we begin the preparation for regionals." Coach Petrosky We had several great runs today and our scorers were Sean Rice, Luke Shuster (18th SL & 20th GS), sophomore DJ Potgeter (19th SL & 19th GS), Tyler Dean (16th GS) and Brayden Smith (22nd SL). The Scots next race is a SWMSC race at Timber Ridge on Wednesday.
