Gobles, MI — Caledonia took 6th place at the first South West Michigan Ski Conference meet held at Timber Ridge Ski Area on Monday. "We are extremely proud of our girls and how well they skied at our first SWMSC meet of the year. Our goals coming into the meet related to improving our performance and we achieved the goal. Kyleigh Thompson, Mya Baldwin and Erin Peckham are providing great leadership and are leading the team on the slopes with our new varsity skiers really stepping up and helping with their times." Coach Petrosky. "The conference has a lot of very fast girls in it this year and every team has one or two girls that could win the meet, so it is fun to watch our skiers push themselves to be in that elite group of skiers. Our fastest skiers are right in the mix of things and they are fun to watch ski." Scoring for the Scots were Mya Baldwin (9th SL), Kyleigh Thompson (11th Sl & 12th GS), Erin Peckham (24th SL & 25th GS), LIz Hilton (27th SL & 29th GS) and scoring her first varsity points was Jessica Maier (35th GS). "Several of our skiers posted substantially better 2nd runs than their first runs so we know that there is a lot of potential for improvement at our next race, which is at Bittersweet on Wednesday" Varsity B Girls take 2nd Place Our varsity B girls did a great job racing short handed and ended up taking 2nd at their first meet. Scoring for the team in GS were Adia Whisler (5th), Jimena Asenjo-Lopez (15th) and Ada Peterson (16th). Scoring in slalom were Jimena Ansenjo-Lopez (8th) and Adia Whisler (10th).
