Jackson, MI — Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had matches today against the Trojans from East Jackson and the Pirates of Napoleon at Jax60. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Lana Gilliland, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain came out strong in the baker games with a solid 325 series. We locked up the match after the first team game and eventually rolled to a 28-2 victory! High games go to Makenzie LaFountain 196-156 for a 352 series! Halle Curtis 188-170 for a 358, and Kaytie Warren 174. Most impressive was the 1626 two game team set which for a short time became our season PR! Next match was against a very formidable Napoleon team. We set a couple goals to beat our team set of 1626 and score more marks per frame than our opponent. The baker set was close as the Pirates only won totals by one pin. After that though the team effort from the Comet ladies dried up all the water for them to float there ship and we sailed to victory 21-9! We topped our season with a 1648 team record two game set and high games went to Halle Curtis 189-183 for a 372 season and game PR, Sofia Donders 181 and 340 set PR's, and Lana Gilliland 182 season PR! Go Comets!! #proudcoach #statebound2023 On Sat Jan 14th, Hanover Horton Boys Bowling Team we’re back home at Jax60 for a doubleheader against the Trojans of East Jackson and the Pirates of Napoleon. Hanover consisting of Lucas Cain, Sabastian Ramsey, Landon Murrell, Elijah Rodabaugh, Nick Shuette, Joe Davis and Jack Kittel. First match against the Trojans, Hanover came out strong with an opening baker win 184-155 but, lost the second baker 155-124. Going into match play down 6 to 4 the Hanover boys bowled well but, only managed to get 4 points. Hanover boys were defeated 22-8. Hanover was led by Lucas Cain 212 (390) and Jack Kittel 206 (400). In the second match against the Pirates of Napoleon, Hanover Boys were out bowled in the Bakers. Down 10-0 after bakers Hanover came out bowling strong in the match play but, only managed a total of 3pts. Hanover was defeated 26-3. Team was led by Elijah Rodabaugh 205 (362) and Joe Davis 214 (393). Next match is Tuesday at L&J Lanes against Jonesville.
