Thompsonville, MI — " Our girls team really skied well today, even though we placed fifth there was a lot to be happy about. Our skiers came out today and skied confidently under some fairly tough conditions. Earlier in the season we raced on Buck and it intimidated some of our skiers but today they all were ready for what ever the hill threw at them." Coach Petrosky "Mya and Kyleigh both really skied well today and really all season. The two of them have really pushed themselves this season and today we got to see them at their finest--we also got to see improved skiing from all of our team." The race which was added to the schedule late in the season, was created to give all of the team's skiers an opportunity to race a final time during a season which had limited the number of races that Caledonia's B Team had raced. "We wanted to get one final race for our skiers that who just did not get enough racing in this season due to the constant string of cancelation of SWMSC races. Our girls really did well and I think the momentum will carry into the off season and help these athletes establish some great goals for next season." The Scots ended up 5th out of the 6 teams competing and were led by Mya Baldwin, who earned medals with a 11th in SL & tied for 13th in GS, Kyleigh Thompson who medaled in GS by tieing for 13th place and also placed 22nd in SL. Rounding out the scoring were Liz Hilton (20th GS & 21st SL), Erin Peckham (24th GS) and Jessica Maier (27th SL). Caledonia's B Team also skied well and were led by Katie Honhart (8th SL & 9th GS), Adia Whisler (10th GS & 13th SL), Ada Peterson (14th SL & 15th GS) and Jimena Lopez (13th GS). "Our B Team girls really pushed themselves today and were consistent in their skiing, plus they were all smiles after their runs."
