Every Memorial Day the American Legion Post 100 Arthur V. Savage of Wyndmoor, Springfield County has honored fallen veterans for a 100+ years. Each year, the American Legion has conducted Memorial Day Parade and Community Day of activities for Veterans and the community of family and friends. We would first like to invite the entire Abington High School Football team to participate in our annual parade and festivities on Memorial Day morning May 29, 2023. We would also like to ask for your help setting up a few tents the day before on Sunday May 28, 2023, and post Tent breakdown the day of events. We will provide food and beverage for all volunteers the day before setting up, we encourage all coaches and parents to participate in the parade and stay for the festivities that take place all day. We will also put Abington football team in our annual program booklet. We encourage you to come march, eat, drink, socialize with veterans and network with the community. When: May 28, 2023, Sunday (setup at Noon) May 29, 2023, Monday (Memorial Day Parade line up at 10am) Parade: (We ask you arrive at 9am) The parade will begin at 10:30 am at Post 100 (7999 Elm Ave). The parade route will be Elm to Willow Grove Ave, Willow Grove Ave. to Flourtown Road, Flourtown Road to Pleasant Road, Pleasant to Queen Road, Queen to Willow Grove, Willow Grove Ave. to Southampton Road, Southhampton to Abington, Abington Road to Traymore road, Traymore to Willow Grove Road ending at Veterans Park. Memorial Service: Following the Parade at Veterans Park, we honor our fallen Veteran soldiers in a short service tribute. We also honor our fallen service members remembered at Vietnam Veterans and a celebration and commemoration.
