Charter Oak defeats La Puente for 10th win

The Charter Oak Chargers varsity basketball team logged their 10th win of the season with a 60-39 victory over La Puente high school at Charter Oak High School on Friday evening. The 10-3 Chargers never really fully got into a good rhythm until the fourth quarter, which they won 20-4. La Puente kept themselves in the picture through three quarters with balance scoring and a persistent interior pressure. Once the Chargers moved the ball well and hit some open shots, the middle opened up and forwards Jermaine Braddock and Chase Evans were able to make an impact underneath. Evans finished with 15 points, while Braddock logged 14 points. To open it up in the fourth, Michael Anyanwu (12 points) hit a three followed by two triples from Reuben Carrillo (6 points). The Chargers stay at home to face Northview High School Saturday night at 6:30pm.
