Menifee, CA — First, I want to thank the coaching staff and players for representing Western Christian Fighting Lancers extremely well. Our goal is always 1st and foremost to represent Christ…. In His Name, In His Image and In His Likeness. We also want to compete at a very high level, we did that as well. We did have a few lulls, but I am pleased with how these players finished. All the teams we faced were upper divisional opponents. Cypress (Div 4) 40 Western Christian 14 Western Christian 6 Tahquitz (Div 9) 9 Rancho Mirage (Div 11) 19 Western Christian 18 Paloma Valley (Div 7) 20 Western Christian 0 The scores do not reflect how much fight the Lancers put up. We learned valuable lessons throughout the day. We are growing on each snap taken. What I was most pleased with is that we uplifted each side of the ball during the entire day. We made it to the Bracket Play and shocked a very talented San Marcos team 24-7 before losing to the eventual champion Cypress. Our linemen also competed in a linemen competition and held their own against some serious competition as well. The Linemen finished 2nd overall in the 8x100 relay and the sled push. They also had a 3rd place finish in the Tire Flip and farmer carries. Very proud of the Linemen! We thank Coach Bub for stepping in and leading them today as well. A Huge thank you to Mrs. Cadie Brown who traveled with us and served as our athletic trainer, she was vital to the well being of all our players. We are eternally grateful to have her as our trainer and we thank God for her expertise. Finally… Words cannot truly express our gratitude to the 1Accord Championship Club and our parent volunteers. They provided a subway lunch, fruit, ice and replenished more ice during this scorching hot day. You all are truly a blessing!!! I thank you from the bottom of my heart! The Lancers are back in action next weekend at Corona Santiago Passing Tournament. Information to come this week. Hope you all can come out and support the FIGHTING LANCERS! Thank you all.
