Thompsonville, MI — "If you had told me that this winter was going to be as challenging as it has been last year I would not have believed you but we have overcome it and we able to complete 5 conference races and two Invitationals before Regionals. Our girls are incredible athletes who have pushed themselves despite the obstacles put in their way. Wednesday's races were no exception. The morning races had softening snow as the morning progressed and the afternoon was raced on chemically hardened snow, which didn't hold up as well as the coaches had hoped." Coach Petrosky" Our girls put down a bunch of great runs and we were able to hold on to third place in the conference." "We have a core of outstanding skiers that are gaining speed every run. Coming into the season, we knew we had fast skiers but the addition of our exchange students has really helped us with the transition to a new hill and conference this season. Vicky Brousse, Zosia Skrzypek and Tamara Sarkoeziova have really skied well and if you watch the scoring they always seem to be in position to contribute to the team. We are seeing great competition between our skiers and everyone is improving." Scoring in the morning race for the Scots were: Mya Baldwin ( 6th GS & 7th SL), Kyleigh Thompson (6th SL & 11th GS), Vicky Brouse (10th GS & 14th SL), Madison Reynolds (15th SL), and Tamara Sarkoeziova (15th GS). In the afternoon LMSC Championship race skiers placing in the top ten earned a medal. Scoring for the Scots were Mya Baldwin (4th GS & 6th SL), Vicky Brousse (9th Sl & 10th GS), Kyleigh Thompson (7th GS & 15th SL), Tamara Sarkoeziova (14th SL) and Liz Hilton (14th GS). The Scots landed three skiers on the All Conference Team, Kyleigh Thompson (7th place), Mya Baldwin (10th place), and our exchange student from France Vicky Brousse (13th place). Monday Feb 12th is Regionals at Caberfae Peaks.
