Sparks, NV — This weekend the Douglas High girls wrestling team traveled to Reed Highschool for the Nevada Queens all girls tournament; the first all girls tournament to be held in northern Nevada. The Douglas wrestling team had two champions; Ella Kavanagh and Lizzie Alloway, with Kavanagh going 4-0 with two pins in the 100 pound bracket and Alloway going 4-0 with three pins in the 138 pound bracket. Holly Baglin placed 2nd in the 107 bracket, going 3-1 with 3 pins. Bliss Moody, in the 120 weight class, and Mica Klein, in the 150 weight class, both took third, with the two girls both going 2-2 with two pins. Kalia Blumenthal at 138 was just shy of placing, takiing fifth, but had a great showing. Although unable to wrestle, Kelsie Doney and Monique Alloway showed up and supported our girls. Overall, the Tiger Girls had a great showing, and are looking forward to wrestling in TOC next weekend.
