Middletown, CT — In what was a heavyweight battle of top CT wrestling teams, the Tigers took a well deserved 4th place. The Colter Abely Mud-season classic felt like the state wrestling tourney with 5 of the top 11 teams in the state competing as well as top 3 - Xavier, Newtown, East Hartford. Dom Barella took first, Victor Petkov took 2nd while securing his 100th win. Dylan Meyers grabbed 3rd. The Tuminello brothers brought it, both advancing to the Semi-finals and taking 4th. Leo Moore and Lorenzo Lanzilli took 5th. Johnny Carrozza battled in a very tough 126 weight class to place 6th taking on 3 top New England wrestlers. Carter Lanzilli captured 6th, while avenging an eight grade rivalry. Jaidyn Chang and Wyatt Podielsky showed grittiness in all 4 of their matches as they grow into their varsity roles in the 175 and 215 weight divisions. Overall a great day for the Tigers as they prop for the second half of the season.
