Utica, NY — The Mecha Spartans competed in the NYS Regional Championship over the past weekend at Mohawk Valley Community College. Although we did not finish with the results that we expected, finishing 23rd out of the 28 teams that qualified for States. The event was a great learning experience for the team, especially being that it was the first time that BHBL has ever qualified for the State Championship. We were able to make contacts with teams from all over the state, learn from other teams builds and programming expertise, all while putting a great exclamation point on the end of our season! Another great result of this event was the qualification of our close friends on the Robovines, who move on to the Worlds Competition in Houston Texas in April. We will be cheering them on and helping them as much as we can as they prepare for this amazing opportunity. Finally, as our competition season comes to an end, the robotics team will now turn our focus to our community outreach, knowledge acquisition to better ourselves for next years competitions, as well as much more! In the words of Mr.Brunson and our school, it is truly a great day to be a Mecha Spartan!!
