Redlands, CA — REDLANDS, Calif. --- Sophomore Sequoia Gonzales recorded a victory in the 3,000m event to highlight the Warriors' trip to the Redlands Invitational on Friday. Gonzales recorded the win with a time of 10:25.62, nearly 17 seconds better than runner-up and teammate Ami Jacobson who finished with a time of 10:42.39. The two Warriors topped a field of 21 runners in the event with a mix of NCAA and 3C2A competition. Overall the Warriors had a number of highlights in a very competitive meet including: Anthony Taylor placed second in the 110HH in 14.45, the new best time in the 3C2A this season. Aaron Cohen placed fourth in the 1500m (4:09.62). Lotanna Muonagor finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.90m (6 feet, 2 ¾ inches) Izak Giacchetto finished sixth in the 110HH (15.21) and ran a personal best in the 100m with a time of 11.03. Dylan Bucher placed sixth in the javelin with a mark of 41.11m (151 feet, 3 inches). Alexis Pitts placed seventh in the 100m with a wind-assisted time of 12.21. Matthew Irvine placed eighth in the 400m (49.69) and 13th in the 200m (22.24). Ty McCormick placed ninth in the 3,000m with a time of 9:28.93. The Warriors will take a week off before returning to action on Saturday, March 30 at the annual Dave Shannon Invitational on the campus of ECC.
