Thompsonville, MI — Wednesday evening kicked off the Caledonia ski racing season and the Scots had an impressive performance, finishing 2nd Place behind a stacked Glenn Lake Co-op Team. Glenn Lake won GS by 14 points and snuck by Caledonia with one less point. “Coming into the season we knew that Glenn Lake combining with the Benzie team would be great competition and they proved it tonight. Their kids skied really well, but so did we. Our varsity team really skied consistently tonight, putting together a big clump of scores that were very similar. We were lead by David Potgeter (4th SL & 5th GS) and Aidan Brown (4th GS & 5th SL), they both have really been pushing themselves and it showed tonight.” Coach Petrosky Also scoring for the Scots were Derick Pritchard (7th Sl & 10th GS), Peter Calhoun (8th GS) and sophomore James Pritchard (8th Sl), this was James first time scoring for the varsity team. All out starters ended up in the top 15 in GS and 7 out 8 of them were in the top 15 in slalom at this race. The Scots next race is the Cadillac Invitational at Caberfae Peaks on Monday Jan 13th and our next conference race is next Wednesday at Crystal Mountain.
