DJ Potgeter knocking down gates while skiing slalom
Harbor Springs, MI — David Potgeter competed in his final high school race at The Highlands Monday. DJ, as most of the team refers to him, has had an incredible career which featured earning two trips to compete in the State Finals. There has only been one other male skier that has made multiple trips to compete in the State Finals, which puts him in some elite company.
“DJ really impressed me at the Finals, he pushed himself and really seemed to enjoy the entire experience. He seemed much more comfortable at the race this year and improved on his performance, finishing 23rd in SL and 32nd in GS in a field of 74 skiers.” Coach Petrosky “DJ has been the foundation of the boys team the past two years, his fast and consistent skiing has helped us to improve as a team. He may be the best leader I have coached and is right at the top as a skier, too! We are going to miss him next year but I know that he has made an impact on the skiers around him and know that they will take what they learned from him to continue help the team improve.”
Over the past four years, David Potgeter has put together a pretty memorable career which places him solidly into Caledonia’s Ski Team records.
