MISSION VIEJO, CA — The Trabuco Hills Mustangs Boys Varsity Wrestling team got off to a terrific team start going 6-0 and winning the team title for the Boy Big Kat Varsity Duals. The Mustangs reeled of victories over Paramount High, Cerritos High, Laguna Hills, La Habra, Woodbridge, and eventually their league rivals San Clemente High. The match with San Clemente is the finals was a tough, rivals-type match with San Clemente jumping out to a 38-17 lead entering the last 4 matches. All four would be pins, with Brandon Gomez, David Golz, Noah Piccolo, And Oliver Benninghoff with pins to edge out the Tritons 41-38 in come-from-behind fashion. Way to go Mustangs!
