Fairfield, CT — Shelton High School Wrestling Gaels outlasted Fairfield Ludlowe 151.5 to 145.5 to claim second place in the Fairfield Warde Invitational Tournament out a field of 17 teams. The Gaels had eight placers, including 6th place Tony Nerette and Ricky Fernandez, 5th place Joe Vargas and Gabe Flores, fourth place Mike Strazza, 2nd place Logan Persson and Chase Galke and tournament champion Ike Blomberg. Congrats to all the wrestlers. Shelton will next be in action at home Wednesday, Jan 15, 6 pm vs East Haven and Friday, Jan 17, 5 pm vs Masuk, Bunnell and Rocky Hill.
