Belmont, MI — The middle school team raced on Saturday at Cannonsburg. The race for the third and final race of the SWMMS GS Series between Gr Christian MS, Gr Catholic United Middle Schools and Caledonia. This is the fifth year for the conference and the Scots took 2nd place this year. Leading the way for the girls team was Ellie Radel who took 4th on both courses, Elsie Decker placed 7th on both courses, Olivia Yonker took 8th on the quad coarse and 11th on the face, and Emily HIlton place 13th on the quad and 14th on the face. The girls took 2nd place behind Catholic United. Scoring for the boys team were Drew Potgeter (3rd on the face & 4th on the Quad), Dan Calhoun (3rd on the quad and 6th on the face), Jace Radel (12th on the face & 13th on the quad), and Graeme Wolverton (12th on the quad & 14th on the face). The boys team also took 2nd place but Gr Christians boys won. "We are super excited by how well our skiers did this winter. It is hard to believe that many of our skiers had never raced and several had barely skied when you look at the results, our kids are doing very well against the skiers from our competition. This group has a ton of potential as skiers and are great kids that we are excited to have a part of the ski program." Coach Petrosky The SWMMS GS Series awards medals to the top ten boys and top ten girls at the end of each season. The placement is an average of a skiers placement. Earning medals for the boys this year were Drew Potgeter 3rd and Dan Calhoun 4th. Earning medals for the girls this year were Ellie Radel 3rd, Elsie Decker 7th, and Emily Hilton 9th.
