Thompsonville, MI — Wednesday the Scots traveled north to compete in their second LMSC race of the season and the girls team showed a lot of improvement with some exceptional skiing.
“Chiara is really skiing well and tonight she won both slalom and giant slalom by impressive margins, over a very talented group of female racers competing in the LMSC. She won slalom by almost 4 seconds and GS by almost a second.” Coach Petrosky “We are noticing the rest of the team stepping up and improving their placements also. Liz Hilton had one of the best races in her career tonight finishing 7th in GS & 9th in slalom, while Madison Reynolds really stepped up her skiing tonight finishing 11th in GS & 13th in SL.”
Rounding out the scoring was Zuzanna Poradzka (9th GS & 10th SL ).
“Our JV skiers really skied well tonight, Kylee Zimmerer (who transferred from WMAA and has to sit out skiing at the varsity level this season) placed 5th in both SL & GS in the overall standings and we saw great improvements in the overall placements many of our JV skiers, I am especially proud of Leah Van Hall, and Olivia VanHall---They both had great GS races.” Coach Petrosky
The team’s next races are both at Crystal Mountain, Wednesday Jan 22nd for a LMSC race and Friday Jan 24th for the Jim Groenevelt Memorial Race (formerly the Benzie Invitational).
