Thompsonville, MI — “We saw some great skiing last night from our girls. Of course, Chiara came out and led the way for our team, winning both events at the meet, but we are really excited about how several of our skiers really turned up the intensity of their racing. Ada Decker is a great example of this, she got some new gs skis at the beginning of the season and we saw her really figure out how to generate speed with them tonight. Her first run was great but her second run was over one second faster, which most skiers were slower on. This is the time of season where everything starts to click for our racers and we are excited for Regionals on Feb 10th.” Coach Petrosky. The Scots took third in the slightly larger LMSC meet. Scoring in GS for Caledonia were: Chiara Marta (1st ), Zuzanna Poradzka (8th), Liz Hilton (15th) and Ada Decker (16th). Scoring for Caledonia in slalom were: Chiara Marta (1st), Liz Hilton (15th), Zuzanna Poradzka (16th) and Ada Decker (20th). “Our JV girls really had some great runs at the race too! Kylee Zimmerer really skied well in both events. Leah Van Hall and Olivia VanLaan also had very good races. The entire group of JV girls is showing improvement and I am excited for their upcoming races to see how fast they will end up”. The Scots next race is Friday, when the varsity team heads to the Otsego Club to race in the Grayling Slalom Hootenanny and then to Schuss Mountain on Monday to race in the Clare Invitational. The next full team race in Wednesday Feb 5th at Crystal Mountain for a LMSC race.
