Valley Center, CA — The 2025 John Morello / City Cup Varsity golf tournament concluded yesterday at Native Oaks GC in Valley Center. Unfortunately, the final round had to be cancelled due to heavy rain that came down as the players were about halfway through their rounds. As a result, the 36 hole results were official, with the Carlsbad "A" team comprised of Kaden Chang, Kenyon Kahler, Thomas Browning and Milan Cohens finishing 2nd out of the 17 teams that played the entire tournament. Cathedral Catholic won the Team title, and La Costa Canyon finished 3rd. Day 1 was played on Monday, March 3 at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos, and Day 2 was played at Pala Mesa GC in Fallbrook. For the 36 holes, the "A" team was a combined 7 over par. Individually, the Lancers placed two in the Top 5, with sophomore Kaden Chang finishing tied for 2nd with a 36 hole score of 9 under par 135, and then Kenyon Kahler finished in a tie for 4th with a 36 hole score of 6 under par 138. Kaden and Kenyon shot 65 & 67 on Day 2 at Pala Mesa, to finish 1-2 on the day.
